For over sixty years, Orthodox Christian Fellowship has helped college students stay connected to Christ, His Church, and one another during one of the most formative seasons of their lives. Today, OCF is reaching a milestone: with nine full-time and one part-time staff member, this is the largest staff in OCF’s history.

That growth reflects what students, alumni, clergy, and parishes have been asking for, and it means more people on the ground to walk alongside students.

Meet the Newest Member of the Team

One of the newest additions is Lidya Abraham, OCF’s first Community Engagement Coordinator. Her role reflects an important part of OCF’s renewed vision for campus ministry: strengthening the local communities where students experience the life of the Church.

Connecting Local Chapters to National OCF

Through conversations with students, alumni, clergy, and other stakeholders, OCF has reaffirmed its commitment to investing in local, on-campus ministry, both at campuses with full-time staff and those led by volunteer students and advisors.

Lidya will help strengthen the relationships between these local communities and National OCF. By building connections with chapters, students, clergy, alumni, and parishes, she will help local communities better access the resources, relationships, and support available through the national ministry.

This matters most for volunteer-led chapters, where student leaders faithfully create opportunities for prayer, fellowship, and spiritual growth while navigating the demands of college life. A larger team makes it possible to offer these chapters:

  • Additional leadership training
  • Resources for Bible studies and chapter gatherings
  • More regular access to staff support

Lidya’s work will make those connections more intentional, so every chapter knows it is part of a larger community ready to support it.

What a Larger Team Makes Possible

In sixty years, OCF has never had a team this size. It arrives alongside the expansion of the Campus Missionary Initiative and the continued development of national programs. More staff means more campuses visited, more student leaders equipped, and more students who know someone is in their corner.

The heart of OCF has never been about the size of its staff. It has always been about the students. But a growing team means greater opportunities to walk alongside them, equip their leaders, and strengthen the communities where they are learning to live their Orthodox faith.

For the students, alumni, clergy, parishes, and supporters who have helped build OCF over the past six decades, this is something to celebrate. Together, we continue working toward OCF’s purpose: providing college students with rich community in Christ, inspiring a lifelong love of God and neighbor.
