With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, Reverend Presbyter Steven J. Sarigianis has been assigned to serve at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Waterbury, Connecticut, effective June 1, 2026.
Reverend Father Steven J. Sarigianis was born and raised in the New Haven, Connecticut area, where his formative years were shaped by active involvement in parish life at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Orange, Connecticut. He is the son of James and Florence Sarigianis and the grandson of the Reverend Father Steven M. and Presbytera Electra Sarigianis. Fr. Steven earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Connecticut in 2010 and received his Master of Divinity with high distinction from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in 2015. He is married to Presbytera Theophani (Damianakis).
Following his graduation, Fr. Steven served for four years as Pastoral Assistant at the Church of the Archangels in Stamford, Connecticut, concluding in 2019. After a period of preparation, he and Presbytera Theophani served as long-term missionaries through OCMC for over two years beginning in April 2021. In mid-2023, they returned to the United States and welcomed their daughter, Despina-Agapi Florentia. On March 30, 2024, he was ordained to the Holy Diaconate by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America at his home parish of St. Barbara. For the past two years, he has faithfully served in the Metropolis of Detroit as Deacon and Assistant to Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit, and on April 25, 2026, he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.
