CENTER SPOTLIGHT: FOCUS Houston

Earlier this year, the doors of FOCUS Houston opened with a powerful mission: to serve mothers, expectant mothers, and children, providing them a safe and compassionate space filled with the unconditional love of Christ. Now, with the arrival of its first clients after months of preparation, that mission is coming to life. 

Nine new mothers recently visited FOCUS Houston, each warmly welcomed with a layette – a laundry basket filled with essential baby clothes and supplies. In addition to their initial baskets, these mothers receive diapers, wipes, and other essentials every time they return. Recognizing language as a crucial part of building connections, FOCUS Houston began offering monthly English classes, opening doors to community and opportunity. By participating in these valuable educational experiences, mothers earn “Baby Bucks” which they can use to purchase car seats, strollers, and baby furniture. WIth future plans to expand class offerings both online and in person, FOCUS Houston is committed to supporting mothers with comprehensive support and services. 

In the coming weeks, FOCUS Houston will open its new coffee shop! This monthly gathering space will allow mothers to connect, build relationships, and grow a supportive community. As the Center continues to grow, it will soon welcome six more mothers, bringing the total to fifteen women receiving ongoing care, support, and resources.
