ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN PRISON MINISTRY Appoints Maggie Wissink and Darin DeBolt as New Board Members

As the demand for Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry continues to grow in facilities across the United States, we are happy to say our leadership is growing, too. OCPM is blessed to add two new members to our Board of Directors.

Mrs. Maggie Wissink is looking forward to serving prisoners and their families as part of this ministry. “I’m really excited to be a part of this ministry.” What started as a simple Sunday school activity, writing postcards for people in prison with her kindergarteners, has turned into a newfound passion for prison ministry. “I was nervous to explain the activity to the kids, but they were unfazed and I was moved by the experience. There’s nothing like the redemptive stories of this ministry. You just want to be a part of something like this.” Maggie is also the Associate Director of the Orthodox Studies Institute at Saint Constantine College in Houston, Texas. She previously was a private archivist for a photographer. Maggie graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska with a bachelor’s degree in History. She lives in Houston, TX and attends St. Joseph Antiochian Orthodox Church with her husband, Dr. Theodore Wissink, and their three children. 

Mr. Darin DeBolt has served as a regional volunteer advocate in his community for prison ministry and has a great passion for visiting those in prison. What began as a family connection to OCPM has grown into a passion for telling more people about what God is doing behind bars across the country. He is excited to now be able to share about OCPM in even more ways than before. Additionally, Darin has been a pilot with United Airlines for more than 25 years and serves on the parish council of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Ft. Worth, TX, where he lives with his wife, Tracie. 

OCPM is grateful to partner with Mrs. Wissink and Mr. DeBolt, whose commitment and willingness to serve those incarcerated will, no doubt, be greatly beneficial to our organization and our brothers and sisters behind bars!
