FOCUS North America is a faith-based not-for-profit whose mission is to engage Orthodox Christians to face the needs of our neighbors, together.  We accomplish our mission in a variety of ways: our work includes food and clothing distributions, meal service and food pantry distributions, housing services, and other ministries for our neighbors in need.

FOCUS has an immediate opening for the position of Director of Development.  This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is a member of the senior management team.  The Director of Development leads a small team of professionals to meet the organization’s fundraising, marketing, and communication objectives, as well as provide fundraising support to our various operating divisions.  The Director of Development will also support and assist the Executive Director in the management of the organization’s major donor portfolio.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee and direct all aspects of donor management, communication, marketing, and fundraising;
  • Assure that FOCUS has an active, vibrant, and effective social media presence;
  • Develop and implement successful annual development plans for FOCUS;
  • Assist local FOCUS Center and ministry directors in the development of their specific, local development plans, and provide oversight and assistance in the successful completion of those plans; and
  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer in the development of annual revenue budgets.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Have a full understanding of the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church, its structure, and theology, as well as extensive experience in the Pan-Orthodox realities of the US;
  • Be a hands-on, service-minded leader willing to dig into the details of the job; and
  • Have experience in web-based donor management software (DonorPerfect is a plus).

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
