(Denver, CO: August 23, 2021) Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry (OCPM), the national prison ministry of the Orthodox Church, recently concluded its first in-person meeting of its Board of Trustees since the outbreak of the pandemic. The Board of Trustees met in Denver, CO.
“It was rewarding to be able to meet as a Board in-person after more than a year apart,” said OCPM Executive Director Niko Petrogeorge. “We have worked diligently to ensure that OCPM’s board and leadership represents a wide swath of the Orthodox world with varying areas of expertise and it was both a productive and valuable meeting.”
The board heard a number of reports on the state of the organization in the areas of Finance, Ministry, Programs, Development and Communications. Some key highlights were reports on new catechism courses now offered to prisoners including a new Orthodox Church History course. The board also received a demonstration of the new “donorperfect” fundraising and database system that OCPM has adopted to streamline its fundraising operations.
