On Sunday, August 7, the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost, the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York City was led by the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk and the chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for Institutions Abroad, His Grace Bishop Antony of Bogorodsk.
The previous evening, Bishop Antony led the All-Night Vigil in St. Nicholas Cathedral. The archpastors were co-served by clerics of the cathedral.
After the reading of the Gospel, Bishop John delivered a sermon on the theme of the Sunday Gospel reading. During the Augmented Litany, prayers were lifted up for peace in Ukraine.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, Bishop Antony relayed the blessings and greetings of His Holiness Patriarch Kiril of Moscow and all Russia. In turn, Bishop John thanked Bishop Antony for his visit and prayers during the Liturgy.
