Yesterday, April 16, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America visited Zoodohos Peghe Greek Orthodox Church in the Bronx, New York, where he celebrated the Great Vespers of the Life-Giving Fountain.

“Every year, I look forward to coming to the Bronx and celebrating your Matronal Feast,” His Eminence said. “I always think of Constantinople on this Feast, and the Holy Church of Ζωοδόχος Πηγή in Μπαλουκλί, where the ἁγίασμα still flows with healings and miracles. Here in the Bronx, you keep this tradition and connection alive, and the Mother Church, the Great Church of Christ, knows of, and is appreciative of your faithfulness.

A multitude of clergy celebrated the service alongside His Eminence, including Chancellor of the Direct Archdiocesan District Fr. Elias Villis and Proistamenos Fr. Vasilios Louros. Following the service, the community hosted a reception at which faithful performed Greek folk dances and enjoyed fellowship with one another.
