On Friday, November 18, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia met with the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of all America and Canada at the Patriarchal Residence in Danilov Monastery in Moscow. Metropolitan Tikhon and his delegation is visiting the Church of Russia in connection with the seventieth birthday of Patriarch Kirill.
Attending as part of the delegation from the Orthodox Church in America is Bishop Daniel of Santa Rosa, Archimandrite Gerasim (Eliel), Archpriest Nazari Polataiko, Archdeacon Joseph Matusiak, and reader Roman Ostash. Archpriest Chad Hatfield, Chancellor of St. Vladimir Semianry in Crestwood, NY also attended the meeting.
Attending from the Moscow Patriarchate was the chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations; Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA; Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, DECR Deputy Chairman and Mr. Dmitry Petrovsky, DECR staff member.
