HCHC is deeply saddened to announce the passing of alumnus George N. Vrettos, a 1951 graduate from Holy Cross. He fell asleep in the Lord in Wheaton, Illinois, on October 19. He was 88 years old.
After graduating from Holy Cross, Mr. Vrettos continued his education, attending Seabury-Western Seminary in Evanston, Illinois, receiving his Master’s Degree in Theology. He then received another Master’s Degree in Counseling. He used his education and background and became a counselor at Chicago junior colleges. George also gave his service to the Church by giving many Sunday sermons at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago.
Mr. Vrettos was married to Angela until her passing earlier this month. He is survived by three stepchildren.
