On Sunday, September 11, the feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk led the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Cathedral. His Grace was co-served by cathedral clergy.

After Holy Communion, Bishop John led the Moleben “For Those Suffering from Alcohol and Drug Addiction.” During the March 2014 meeting of the Holy Synod of Bishops, hierarchs and clergy were encouraged to serve this Moleben yearly on the feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist.

Afterwards, Bishop John then led a Panihida for those who lost their lives at the hands of the terrorists on September 11, 2001.
