On January 22- 23, 2026, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon participated in the annual March for Life events in Washington, DC. Accompanying His Beatitude were Archpriest Alessandro Margheritino, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America, and Priest David Bozeman, Secretary of the Orthodox Church in America.

On the evening of Thursday, January 22, His Beatitude attended the Mass for the National Prayer Vigil at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, DC. Joining His Beatitude were His Eminence Archbishop Melchisedek of Pittsburgh, His Eminence Archbishop Michael of New York, and His Grace Bishop Andrei of Cleveland, along with other hierarchs from the Assembly of Bishops, led by His Grace the Right Reverend Irinej, Bishop of Washington-New York and Eastern America of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Following the service, His Grace hosted a dinner for the other hierarchs, clergy, and other guests.

On the morning of Friday, January 23, His Beatitude attended the Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas Cathedral along with bishops, clergy and faithful from across the Orthodox Church in America. Also in attendance was His Grace Bishop Nekatarios of Diokleia, Chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Following the Liturgy, a breakfast reception was held before the beginning of the March for Life.

The gathering for the March for Life Rally began at 12:00 PM at the National Mall. The assembled hierarchs gathered to offer the opening prayer, given by His Grace Irinej. At 12:30 PM His Beatitude presided at the Service of Supplication to End Abortion, after which the March for Life began. Joining His Beatitude were the other hierarchs and delegations representing both St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary and St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary. The March for Life concluded later that afternoon at the Supreme Court.
