St. Louis, MO – FOCUS North America will host Called to Serve: Understanding and Engaging in Service as Orthodox Christians at La Salle Retreat Center on November 1-2, 2019, featuring: Anberin Pasha, Orthodox Filmmaker; Judith Komline, Founder of Houses of Hospitality nonprofit; and Eric Shanburn, Director of FOCUS Detroit.
As a Fellowship of Orthodox Christians United to Serve, we’re offering a national conference in our 10th anniversary year to bring together a variety of social ministry leaders, nonprofit professionals, volunteers, and laity who are interested in cultivating love in their communities and transforming that love to into action, through service.
In Matthew 25, our Lord calls us all to serve — but what’s the best way to answer that call from a spiritual and practical point of view? That’s what FOCUS will be exploring with you for two days at the La Salle Retreat Center through prayer, workshops, discussion, fellowship, and hands-on service at the FOCUS Center in St. Louis.
All ticket options include conference activities and meals. For participants coming out of town, we also have bundles that include lodging. More ticketing information, the conference schedule, and speaker biographies can be found on our conference website: https://calledtoserve.focusnorthamerica.org/
If you are involved in local social ministry, looking to grow your impact, learn from others, and are interested in ways to connect your service to your Orthodox Faith, this opportunity is for you!
