On December 9, 2025, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America welcomed Greece’s Minister of Labour and Social Security Niki Kerameus, to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America headquarters. Minister Kerameus was accompanied by the Consul General of Greece in New York Iphigenia Kanara.

Archbishop Elpidophoros expressed his gratitude to the Minister for her leadership of REBRAIN GREECE, an initiative designed to create professional opportunities in Greece by establishing a large-scale networking platform.

His Eminence congratulated Minister Kerameus on this forward-looking effort, emphasizing its importance for Greece’s vitality.

“The omogenia and the diaspora are the branches, and Greece is the tree trunk. When the trunk weakens, so do the branches,” he said. “It is therefore vital that Greece attract bright young people who can help strengthen the economy and secure a strong future for the nation. This will benefit both our homeland and Greek Americans for many years to come.”

Minister Kerameus thanked the Archbishop for his hospitality, for his kind and thoughtful words and for his support of this initiative, the first in the United States. She remarked that the event exceeded her expectations, with enthusiastic participants coming from all over the United States and North America for the purpose of connecting with companies and organizations in Greece and to explore career opportunities.

On Sunday, Archbishop Elpidophoros attended REBRAIN GREECE, where Minister Kerameus and Consul General Kanara welcomed him and gave him a tour of the event.
