Manhattan, N.Y. — Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met on Tuesday with His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the headquarters of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in New York, where he was welcomed by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America.
During the talks, His All-Holiness thanked the prime minister for Greece’s steadfast support of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and its mission, including the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. He also reflected on his weeklong visit to the United States, which featured meetings with President Donald Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson, senior government officials, and leaders of the Hellenic American community.
Prime Minister Mitsotakis is scheduled to attend Wednesday’s ceremony during which the Templeton Prize will be bestowed upon the Ecumenical Patriarch.
