Faithful on the pilgrimage “From Rome to New Rome” spent their final morning in Istanbul on the top deck of a passenger ship, above the splendor of the Bosphorus Strait. The backdrop evoked feelings of both awe and heartbreak–for all the Orthodox iconography that gilds the city, very few sites actually remain Christian.
