Coming Together to Serve: FOCUS Detroit Partners with Local High School
FOCUS Centers unite communities to meet the needs of their neighbors, a mission that’s vital in places like Detroit, MI., where challenges tied to poverty run deep. Through one of its Board Members, FOCUS Detroit was recently connected to a large donation of clothing, bedding, and other essentials following Detroit Catholic Central High School’s Fall Rummage Sale.
The donated goods were graciously accepted by FOCUS Detroit Director, Adam Murphy. Nearly 40 students, school staff, and FOCUS Detroit volunteers then collected, packed and delivered the items to FOCUS Detroit where families who visit the Center’s Outfitted for Good Free Store will now have access to them.
The impact of these community partnerships is transformative. The collaboration between FOCUS Detroit and Detroit Catholic Central wasn’t only about delivering aid; it strengthened the community bonds that are crucial for long-term change. Students and staff saw firsthand the struggles facing their neighbors, and through their dedication, they became more connected to the people they serve.
Such connections fuel FOCUS Centers across the country, nurturing a spirit of compassion that will help build resilient caring communities. To support FOCUS Detroit or to learn more about their work, visit URL or give now to make a lasting impact.
