On October 16, 2021, Reverend Father Narcis Stoica, parish priest of Nativity of the Virgin Mary Parish in Boston, fell asleep in the Lord, on October 16, 2021, in Ploiesti, Romania, where he was visiting relatives. The funeral services and burial took place at Ghighiu Monastery in Prahova County.
Narcis Stoica was born on March 3, 1959, in Campina, Prahova County, Romania. He received diplomas from I.L. Caragiale High School (Ploiesti) in 1978 and the Petroleum and Gas Institute (Ploiesti) in 1985 with a degree in mechanical engineering. In 1983, he married Violeta Lorelei Zamfirescu in Ploiesti, who is a production engineer. A daughter, Lorelei Ioana, was born in 1987. In 1996, Narcis and his family became permanent residents of the United States through the Visa Lottery program and became citizens in 2004. The family were faithful members St. Anne Parish, Pomona, CA, where Narcis served in various positions on the parish council beginning in 1998. Following his completion of the St. Stephen’s Course for Late Vocations, Archbishop Nathaniel ordained Narcis into the Diaconate (2005). In 2007, Deacon Narcis was ordained into the Priesthood by Bishop Varsanufie (Prahoveanul) in Romania, with the blessing of Archbishop Nathaniel. Since 2008, Fr Narcis was assigned to Nativity of the Ever-Virgin Mary Parish, Chelsea, MA, where he also worked as a mechanical engineer / quality assurance manager in his secular employment.
Fr. Narcis is survived by his Preoteasa Violeta and their daughter Lorelei.
