Protocol 07/005

Your Beatitude, Dear Brother and Concelebrant in the Lord’s Mysteries,

I greet you on this joyous occasion of your birthday. I hope and pray that you are able to celebrate the day in peace and thanksgiving, together with those dear to you. Many years, Your Beatitude!

Having served for some time as a hierarch of the Romanian Church, now as Patriarch you lead the Church of Christ in the nation of Romania. You coordinate many Christian good works and efforts in Romania, raising and distributing alms for the poor and needy, preaching the Gospel in inspiring sermons, and constructing magnificent church temples, just to name a few. In addition to completing such good works domestically, you provide a wise and stable voice universally in inter-Orthodox discussions and ecumenical exchanges. May you be strengthened and fortified to continue in such good works, continually doing all these good things for the Glory of God and in the name of our Lord Jesus, as the Apostle commands: “and whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus (Colossians 3:17)”.

Offering my sincerest prayers for your ongoing Patriarchal ministry and for your wellbeing, and for your flock’s wellbeing and safety from the pandemic,

I remain,

+TIKHON
Archbishop of Washington
Metropolitan of All America and Canada
