The Holy Synod of Bishops of the Orthodox Church in America, under the presidency of His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon will hold by video conference call their Spring Session on Wednesday, April 29, and Friday, May 1.
Participating in the meeting will be His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel of Detroit and the Romanian Episcopate, His Eminence Archbishop Benjamin of San Francisco and the West, His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, His Eminence Archbishop Melchisedek of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania, His Eminence Archbishop Irénée of Ottawa and Canada, His Eminence Archbishop Michael of New York City and New York and New Jersey, His Eminence Archbishop Alexander of Dallas, the South, and the Bulgarian Diocese; websiteHis Eminence Archbishop David of Sitka and Alaska, His Grace Bishop Paul of Chicago and the Midwest. Metropolitan Tikhon received a letter of regret for His Eminence Archbishop Alejo of Mexico City who is quarantined outside of Mexico City with limited internet connectivity.
Participating in the session by invitation will be His Grace Bishop Daniel of Santa Rosa; His Grace Bishop Alexis of Bethesda, His Grace Bishop Andrei of Cleveland; and Archpriest Alexander Rentel, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America.
During their meeting the Holy Synod will give consideration to reports on a number of matters including the Synodal Directives for COVID-19, the financial health of the central church and the dioceses and parishes, 50th anniversary celebrations, and a review of the resolution of the Metropolitan Council regarding the relocation of the Chancery.
