JOHNSTOWN, PA — [Diocesan Chancery]– The Orthodox Youth Mission Team left this morning, July 6th from Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Danbury, CT and St Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Orange, CT to participate in the Appalachian Service Project (ASP) in Barbourville, KY. This marks OYMT’s 9th year of doing youth mission work. This year more than 70 Orthodox youth and adult leaders from Florida, California, Texas, Kentucky, Maryland, New York and Connecticut will come together to serve our Lord by working with families in Appalachia to help make their” homes warmer, safer and drier.” Another group of about 30 Orthodox Christians from North Carolina and New Jersey has just completed a week long work session in the same location.
