Registration is now open for the Patriarch Tikhon Russian-American Music Institute’s [PaTRAM] Singers’ Summer Academy, slated to be held at Saint Alexander Nevsky Cathedral [ROCOR], Howell, NJ June 27-30, 2019.
The Academy will offer both a Singers’ Program and a Male Choir Program. The Male Choir will be conducted by Maestro Vladimir Gorbik, while Maestro Benedict Sheehan will conduct the Mixed Choir.
Maestro Gorbik, choirmaster of the Holy Trinity-Saint Sergius Lavra Podvorie in Moscow, has held several master classes with the Male Choir at Saint Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. As a result, the male students will also benefit from singing alongside this more experienced and rapidly developing choir. The Mixed Choir will be under the direction of Maestro Sheehan, who has many years of experience conducting at Saint Tikhon’s Monastery, South Canaan, PA. The Academy repertoire will also include hymns from his newly composed Divine Liturgy, commissioned by PaTRAM.
Laryssa Doohovskoy will lead PaTRAM’s outstanding Mixed Singers’ Program faculty, which includes Richard Barrett and Talia-Maria Sheehan. Additionally, Dr. Nicholas Reeves will support both choirs with musicianship classes.
Registration details and forms, together with schedule and costs, are available online.
