Speakers at this year’s Clergy Continuing Education Program, slated to be held at Saint Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary [STOTS] June 19-21, 2018, were recently announced.

As reported earlier, the theme of this year’s gathering is “Contemporary Issues Facing Today’s Orthodox Pastor.”

Archimandrite Sergius, Abbot of Saint Tikhon’s Monastery, will speak on “Prayer: The Liturgy of the Heart,” while Archpriest Steven Voytovich, STOTS Dean and Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Pastoral Arts and Praxis, will speak on “Ministering in Times of Crisis.”  Dr. Al Rossi, a licensed clinical psychologist, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services at Saint Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, and retired Associate Professor of Psychology at Pace University, will offer a presentation titled “Dealing with Internet Pornography Issues.”  Donna Witek, MA, MLIS, Associate Professor and Information Literacy Coordinator at the University of Scranton’s Weinberg Memorial Library, will speak on “Using Social Media Well: Information Literacy on the Internet for Orthodox Christian Clergy and Faithful.”  “The Opioid Epidemic” will be the topic of a presentation by Melissa Wertman, Assistant Director of the Wayne County, PA Drug and Alcohol Commission.

The program will conclude with a panel discussion by presenters.

The $100.00 registration fee includes all meals, overnight accommodations in the dormitory, and program materials.  A registration form is available for downloading.  Completed forms should be submitted by email no later than June 17 to mgoodge@stots.edu.
