Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Great Britain Marks 70th Anniversary

In August 1947 Bishop Mstyslav (Skrypnyk) visited Great Britain and held the first Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (UAOC) Archpastoral Divine Liturgy in the country. The service was held in the auditorium of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) and is considered to be the founding moment of the Great Britain Diocese.  To mark the 70^th anniversary of this historic event in the life of the Church in Great Britain, His Eminence Metropolitan Antony and Archbishop Daniel served a Moleben of Thanksgiving at the very same site on the Great Feast of the Transfiguration of our Lord – 19 August 2017.
