Camp

With the school year drawing to a close in the weeks ahead, the Orthodox Church in America’s coast-to-coast summer camps are putting the final touches on plans for their 2017 seasons.

“We’re planning to compile and make available a complete directory of our summer camps on the OCA web site,” said Priest Christopher Rowe, Project Manager for the OCA Department of Youth, Young Adult and Campus Ministry.  “We request camp directors and organizers to send information so we can include it in the annual listing.”

The camp directory will include the name and location of each camp; the sponsoring diocese, deanery or parish; the name[s] of the camp director[s] with contact info; opening and closing dates; costs; and any other specific information, such as special programs and themes.  Information on camp Facebook and social media sites also is welcome.

“We want to thank our camp organizers, staffs and directors, and clergy for the hard work they do and the sacrifices they make on behalf of our Church and her youth,” Father Chris added.  “We know that Orthodox Christian camping is a life-changing experience for many of our youth.”

The complete directory of all OCA camps will be posted on the OCA web site at the end of May.
