On Saturday, January 14, the feast of the Circumcision of Christ as well as the feast of St. Basil the Great, the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Cathedral. His Grace was co-served by clerics of St. Nicholas Cathedral; Priest Gregory Winsky, cleric of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Philadelphia, PA and Priest Alexander Tsygankov, cleric of St. Andrew Cathedral in Philadelphia, PA.
During the Divine Liturgy, after his tonsure to reader and ordination to the subdiaconate, Bishop John ordained Evgeny Iotov, a parishioner of St. Andrew Cathedral in Philadelphia, PA, to the Holy Diaconate.
After the conclusion of the Liturgy, Bishop John delivered a sermon on the topic of the feast as well as greeted the new cleric of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA. Bishop John also greeted those celebrate their namesday on the feast of St. Basil the Great and especially long-time altar server Vasilly Shamazov.
