On Sunday. January 8, the second day after the feast of the Nativity of Christ, the Synaxis of the Holy Mother of God, the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Cathedral. His Grace was co-served by the rector of the Church of the Elevation of the Holy Cross Church in Hackettstown, NJ, Archpriest John Kassatkin as well as clerics of the cathedral.

During the Divine Liturgy, after his tonsure to reader and ordination to the subdiaconate, Bishop John ordained Andrew Massey a deacon. Deacon Andrew will fulfill his service at Elevation of the Holy Cross Church.

After the conclusion of the Liturgy, Bishop John delivered a sermon on the topic of the feast as well as greeted the new cleric of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA.
