In a powerful display of patriotism, gratitude, and community service, Day of Gratitude II brought together thousands of Americans at Allegiant Stadium on June 6, 2026—D-Day—to honor veterans, military families, first responders, and the heroes who have sacrificed to protect our nation.

The centerpiece of the event was a moving tribute to nine World War II veterans who traveled from across the United States, all expenses paid, to be recognized for their extraordinary service during one of the most consequential periods in world history. Their attendance served as a reminder that the freedoms Americans enjoy today were secured through the courage and sacrifice of the Greatest Generation.

The event generated more than $3 million in donated goods, services, and toys, directly benefiting approximately 20,000 veteran, military, and first responder families from throughout Southern Nevada and beyond.

“Day of Gratitude is about bringing Americans together around a common purpose, honoring those who have served and ensuring that military and first responder families know their sacrifices are appreciated,” said event Chairman Peter Palivos. “The response from across the country was overwhelming and demonstrates the incredible generosity that exists when people unite in service to others.”

The event attracted an impressive roster of military, government, and civic leaders, including:

  • Four-Star General Andrew Poppas
  • Major General Ondra Berry
  • Major General Richard Johnson
  • Major General Joseph Lestorti
  • Brigadier General Troy Armstrong
  • Brigadier General David Epperson
  • Navy Commander Demetrios Grimes
  • Congresswoman Dina Titus
  • Governor Joe Lombardo
  • Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony
  • Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley
  • Assistant Secretary of Veterans Affairs Sam Brown
  • White House Senior Advisor to the President Brittany Baldwin

A memorable surprise during the program occurred when Voice for the Veterans Chairman Peter Palivos was presented the Key to the City of Las Vegas by Mayor Shelley Berkley in recognition of his unwavering commitment to veterans and his leadership in helping make Day of Gratitude one of the largest military appreciation events in the nation.

Day of Gratitude II was made possible through the support of dedicated community partners and sponsors, including City Serve, Love Has No Limits, Voice for the Veterans, The Duffield Foundation, and Trina’s Kids Foundation. Their generosity helped ensure that thousands of deserving families received critical support, resources, gifts, and encouragement.

Organizers also extend their sincere appreciation to country music superstars Big & Rich and acclaimed singer-songwriter Coffey Anderson for donating their time and talents to help make the event a memorable celebration of patriotism and gratitude. Their performances inspired attendees and helped create an atmosphere worthy of honoring America’s veterans, military families, and first responders.

While the event celebrated service and sacrifice, it also carried a broader message of national unity. Held on the anniversary of D-Day, Day of Gratitude II demonstrated that Americans from every background can come together to honor those who have worn the uniform, protected our communities, and answered the call of duty.

As organizers look toward future events, the success of Day of Gratitude II stands as a testament to what can be accomplished when communities unite with one mission: to honor heroes, strengthen families, and serve those who have served us.
