The Saint Anastasia Fellowship (SAF) and Saint Basil Academy (SBA) are pleased to announce the formal establishment of a collaborative partnership dedicated to providing spiritual and educational resources for those impacted by addiction. This initiative integrates the ancient wisdom of the Orthodox Church with modern recovery support to serve the residents, staff, and families of the Saint Basil Academy community.
The foundation of this collaboration is a monthly Paraklesis Service to Saint Anastasia the Deliverer from Potions, the patroness of the Fellowship. These services will be led by Father Nikolas Delaveris, Director of the Saint Anastasia Fellowship, and will offer a dedicated space for prayer, healing, and spiritual intercession.
“We are honored to work with Father Nikolas and the Saint Anastasia ministry. This work is so important in equipping our children, families, and staff with the spiritual tools necessary to navigate life today,” said Father Constantine Sitaras, Executive Director of Saint Basil Academy.
In addition to liturgical support, the partnership prioritizes education and professional development. The Fellowship will soon host a specialized seminar for Saint Basil Academy staff focused on the “Orthodox Model of Healing Addiction.” This will be followed by ongoing professional training designed to equip staff with a deeper understanding of how to address the complexities of substance use disorders through a theological and compassionate lens.
“We are committed to supporting the residents of Saint Basil Academy who have been impacted by addiction by offering the richness and depth of our Orthodox faith,” said Father Nikolas. “By grounding our recovery efforts in the life of the Church, we provide a path toward healing that addresses the whole person — body and soul.“
The Saint Anastasia Fellowship continues its mission to be a beacon of hope and a resource for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, ensuring that no individual or family faces the challenge of addiction alone.
