The National Philoptochos Society of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese began 2026 in a particularly blessed manner, continuing a cherished New Year’s tradition at the Philoptochos Center of Philanthropy (PCOP) in New York City. Led by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, the Agiasmo service and the cutting of the Vasilopita offered a prayerful and meaningful start to the year – beautifully reflecting the Society’s steadfast devotion to our Greek Orthodox faith and its sacred mission of philanthropy.

In his remarks, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros shared, “It is one of the eminent characteristics of Philoptochos that you work together in a cooperative way. Through the representation from the Archdiocesan District and the Metropolises, you send a message throughout the country that you are working together for common cause and common good. The national priorities of Philoptochos are readily adopted by the individual chapters, because of your commitment to this synergism.”
