Seattle’s Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church through its recently established Philoxenia House Ministry now provides temporary housing opportunities for individuals and families traveling to Seattle for outpatient cancer treatments at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and Seattle Children’s Hospital. The Philoxenia House which is adjacent to the Church offers comfort, care, and Orthodox Christian love and hospitality (philoxenia) during challenging times. The building includes two independent fully furnished two-bedroom apartments with parking spaces.
Following the blessing of the home by His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco, the Ministry began accepting applications for residential assistance in March 2025.
