Today, Nov. 27, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received the Ambassador of the United States to Türkiye, Tom Barrack, during a scheduled visit to the Phanar. Present at the meeting were Greek Orthodox hierarchs from the U.S., led by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America.
The discussion focused primarily on the Theological School of Halki and the steps being taken toward its reopening, following the interest expressed by President Trump during the Patriarch’s visit to the White House. The Ambassador reaffirmed that the President’s commitment to the matter remains firm and requested to be kept informed about ongoing developments.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of Thanksgiving greetings.
The American delegation consisted of His Eminence Metropolitan Savas of Pittsburgh, His Eminence Metropolitan Constantine of Denver, His Grace Bishop Athenagoras of Nazianzos, and His Grace Bishop Nektarios of Diokleia.
