Manhattan, N.Y. — On September 9, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America warmly welcomed the new Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in New York, Mr. Kyriakos Pogiatzis, on the occasion of his assumption of duties. The meeting took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, reaffirming the strong bonds that unite the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America with the Cypriot community and the Republic of Cyprus.
During the discussion, Archbishop Elpidophoros expressed his heartfelt wishes to Mr. Poyadjis for a successful and fruitful tenure, highlighting the critical role of the Consulate General in supporting the Cypriot diaspora and advancing our national issues. The new Consul General assured that he will continue with dedication the mission of strengthening relations with the Greek-American community and expressed his desire for close cooperation with the Archdiocese in the areas of education, culture, and the joint presence on issues of great importance for Hellenism and Orthodoxy.
