This past week, the partnership between St. Tikhon’s Seminary and the Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry (OCPM) came alive by hosting its inaugural Certificate Program in Prison Ministry during a week-long immersive residency here at St. Tikhon’s.
Participants in the program’s first cohort spent focused time in the classroom with V.Rev. Stephen Powley and V.Rev. John Kowalczyk learning the theoretical foundations of prison ministry. This was followed by invaluable field experience at the State Correctional Institution (Waymart) located mere miles from the seminary campus.
St. Tikhon’s is overjoyed to share this partnering program with the OCPM, much needed as it is in service to the Orthodox Faith.
