On Friday, September 8, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest, on behalf of the Holy Synod of Bishops, traveled to Holy Trinity Church in Parma, Ohio, for an archpastoral visit, at which time he presented Michael Pilat with the award of The Order of St. Romanos and a Gramota to Protodeacon Anthony Kall, recognizing 25 years of service in the diaconate at Holy Trinity. A festive reception for all was held in the church hall following Daily Vespers and the award presentations.
Michael Pilat is recently retired as choirmaster at Holy Trinity following 57 years of service leading choirs in the Orthodox Church in Paramus and Wayne, New Jersey, Lorain, Ohio and here in Parma. He is also a music educator and composer of liturgical music. Protodeacon Anthony is also a retired educator in the technological field in the Parma School System.
