An invitation has been extended to all clergy of the Orthodox Church in America and their wives to participate in a webinar, “Becoming a Healing Presence,” at 1:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, September 15, 2016.
Hosted at no cost to participants by the Center for Family Care of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, this webinar is one in a series launched in November 2015 intended to provide clergy families with resources to support their ministries.
According to Priest Nathan Preston, Administrator of the OCA’s Department of Pastoral Life, the Center for Family Care, through the generous support of the Greek Archdiocese’s Leadership 100, endeavors to provide opportunities for clergy families of all Orthodox jurisdictions to reflect upon and grow in their ministries so that they may more effectively serve the faithful in America.
Leading the live discussion will be Dr. Albert Rossi, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services and instructor at Saint Vladimir’s Seminary, Yonkers, NY. Known by generations of clergy and laity alike as a teacher, lecturer, much-sought retreat master, author, and therapist, Dr. Rossi was a member of the SCOBA Commission on Contemporary Social and Moral Issues. He has written numerous articles on psychology and religion and published a book through Paulist Press, titled Can I Make a Difference: Christian Family Life Today. After teaching at Pace University for 24 years, he retired as Associate Professor of Psychology. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New York. He also hosts a brief, bi-weekly podcast—Becoming a Healing Presence—on Ancient Faith Radio.
Interested clergy and their wives are asked to register in advance on-line.
