His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, was among the nation’s invited religious leaders who attended funeral services at the National Cathedral honoring the late President George Herbert Walker Bush on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.
The 41st President died at the age of 94 in Houston, TX late Friday evening, November 30, nearly eight months after the death of his wife, Barbara Bush, on April 17. He was the oldest living President in US history.
Also in attendance was His Eminence, Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Archpriest John Vitko, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America’s Archdiocese of Washington, DC, was also present.
On Thursday, December 6, President Bush will be interred at his presidential library after funeral services in Houston, TX.
