With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel, on Sunday, July 19, 2026, the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost and the Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the Fourth Ecumenical Council, His Grace Bishop Andrei of Cleveland made a pastoral visit to St. Elijah the Prophet Romanian Orthodox Parish in Schomberg, Ontario, in the Greater Toronto Area, where he officiated the Holy and Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the parish’s patronal feast.
Assisting His Grace at the Divine Liturgy were the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Marius Bujor, Rev. Fr. John Richardson, attached cleric and Orthodox Chaplain with the Canadian Armed Forces at CFB Borden, Ontario, and Rev. Hdn. Benedict Oancea.
Following the reading of the Holy Gospel, which recounts the healing of the two blind men and the mute man in Capernaum (Matthew 9:27–35), His Grace delivered a homily reflecting on Christ’s compassion and mercy, encouraging the faithful to approach the Lord with trust, perseverance, and heartfelt prayer.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, everyone was invited to an agape meal generously prepared by the parish community, offering the faithful an opportunity to continue the celebration in a spirit of Christian fellowship.
Preasfințitul Părinte Andrei prezent la hramul Parohiei Ortodoxe Române „Sfântul Proroc Ilie” din Schomberg, Ontario
Cu binecuvântarea Înaltpreasfințitului Părinte Arhiepiscop Nathaniel, în Duminica a VII-a după Rusalii, 19 iulie 2026, Duminica Sfinților Părinți de la Sinodul al IV-lea Ecumenic, Preasfințitul Părinte Andrei de Cleveland, a efectuat o vizită pastorală la Parohia Ortodoxă Română „Sfântul Proroc Ilie” din Schomberg, Ontario (zona metropolitană Toronto), unde a săvârșit Sfânta și Dumnezeiasca Liturghie cu prilejul hramului parohiei.
Alături de Preasfinția Sa au slujit părintele paroh PC. Pr. Marius Bujor, PC. Pr. John Richardson, preot atașat și capelan ortodox al Forțelor Armate Canadiene la CFB Borden, Ontario, precum și Cuv. Ierod. Benedict Oancea.
În cuvântul de învățătură rostit după citirea Sfintei Evanghelii, care istorisește vindecarea celor doi orbi și a unui mut din Capernaum (Matei 9, 27–35), Preasfințitul Părinte Andrei a vorbit despre mila și iubirea lui Hristos față de cei care Îl caută cu credință, îndemnându-i pe cei prezenți să-și pună întotdeauna nădejdea în Dumnezeu.
La încheierea Sfintei Liturghii, toți cei prezenți au fost invitați să participe la agapa frățească pregătită cu multă dăruire de membrii parohiei, prilej de comuniune și bucurie pentru întreaga comunitate.
