On June 30, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America presided over a Vespers Service as part of the 48th Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress, hosted at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

“Prayer is the breath of the soul, that keeps us alive. Without prayer, the heart grows cold and unfeeling,” His Eminence said in his homily. “To pray as a Body of Believers, as well as individual living Icons of God, is essential to our identity as Orthodox Christians … as we say farewell to the Fast and Feasts of the Holy Apostles, let us recommit to their example and remain steadfast in their Doctrine, in fellowship, in the Worship of the Holy Liturgy, and in prayer.”
