Hybrid – Summer internship | Paid
The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America is seeking a Summer 2026 Communications Intern to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in digital media, journalism, strategic communications and storytelling—while contributing to the work of one of the most respected faith-based organizations in the country.
Main responsibilities include writing, research, photography, video, social media, and media relations.
While being Greek American, having knowledge of the Greek language, or being an Orthodox Christian can be helpful, none of these are requirements.
Important qualities are being value-driven, eager to learn, and appreciative of the opportunity to work for an important and challenging institution such as the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese.
What You’ll Do:
- Support the creation of content for our social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X, LinkedIn)
- Contribute to writing, editing and visual content development
- Support coverage of key events (photos, interviews, summaries)
- Mine for social and newsletter content
- Attend team meetings and brainstorms
- Perform other communications-related tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Passion for storytelling, media, or journalism
- Familiarity with major social platforms
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to occasionally work from our NYC office and be available for occasional weekend assignments
What You’ll Gain:
- Experience working with a professional communications team
- Real bylines and content published on national platforms
- Insight into faith-based communications at the national level
We do not view our interns as people who are here to do menial work. We strive to offer meaningful exposure to a professional communications environment in a way that will be useful to each candidate and relevant to their academic or professional path forward. That path may or may not lead to GOARCH Communications — but one thing is certain: it will not be boring.
We ask for a willingness to learn and appreciate the role of a global church steeped to an ancient faith and a rich historical heritage, and to the spiritual longing of the people. We invite you to be ready to recognize its profound significance in community, national, and world politics, and its responsibility to address and confront nuanced dilemmas and urgent subjects
The summer internship will offer:
Stipend: $4,800 total ($600 per week)
Travel expense: $25 per week (towards any subway fare for example).
This internship is full-time, mostly remote, and runs during the summer of 2026. It includes occasional in-person work in New York City and some weekend availability may be required.
To apply, please submit a resume, brief cover letter, and (if available) 1–2 samples of writing or content you’ve created to:
