Between April 24โ26, 2026, His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel was among the faithful of Sts. Constantine and Helen Romanian Orthodox Parish in Indianapolis, Indiana, on the occasion of the blessing of the newly completed renovation and redesign work carried out at the parish church.
The visit began on Friday evening with the celebration of the Vespers service. On Saturday, when the Orthodox Church commemorated the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Mark and Venerable Vasile of Poiana Mฤrului, His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel officiated the Holy and Divine Liturgy, assisted by the parish priest, V. Rev. David Wey, V. Rev. Paul Coats (attached), Dn. Christopher McCulloh (parish deacon), Hdn. Benedict Oancea, and visiting clergy from the Indianapolis area.
Before the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence blessed the work that had been completed in the interior and exterior of the church, giving thanks to God for the renewal and beautification of this sacred space.
The newly redesigned interior was created by architect ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐ฐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐, who transformed the nave into a three-aisle basilica, adding columns, arches, paneling, custom chandeliers, and woodwork inspired by Romanian village-church architecture. The project, completed after several years of design, fundraising, and construction, has brought a renewed Orthodox character and beauty to the parish church, originally built in 1948.
On Saturday evening, the Vespers service was again celebrated. On the Third Sunday after Pascha, dedicated to the Holy Myrrh-bearing Women and also marking the Synaxis of the Holy Romanian Women, His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel officiated the Holy and Divine Liturgy, assisted by the clergy and deacons.
At the conclusion of the services, His Eminence expressed his gratitude to Very Rev. David Wey, the parish priest, as well as to the parish president, the Parish Council, and all the faithful for their dedication, involvement, and devotion to the Church. His Eminence also thanked all those whose efforts, generosity, and sacrifice made this beautiful work possible.

Vizita a รฎnceput vineri seara, prin sฤvรขrศirea slujbei Vecerniei, ศi a continuat sรขmbฤtฤ, zi รฎn care Biserica Ortodoxฤ i-a pomenit pe Sfรขntul Apostol ศi Evanghelist Marcu ศi pe Sfรขntul Cuvios Vasile de la Poiana Mฤrului. รn aceastฤ zi, รnaltpreasfinศitul Pฤrinte Arhiepiscop Nathaniel a sฤvรขrศit Sfรขnta ศi Dumnezeiasca Liturghie, alฤturi de un sobor de preoศi ศi diaconi, dintre care, PC. Pr. David Wey, parohul comunitฤศii, PC. Pr. Paul Coats (cleric ataศat parohiei), Diac. Christopher McCulloh (diaconul parohiei), Ierod. Benedict Oancea, precum ศi alศi clerici invitaศi din zona Indianapolis.
รnainte de Dumnezeiasca Liturghie, รnaltpreasfinศia Sa a binecuvรขntat lucrฤrile realizate atรขt รฎn interiorul, cรขt ศi la exteriorul bisericii, aducรขnd mulศumire lui Dumnezeu pentru reรฎnnoirea ศi รฎnfrumuseศarea acestui sfรขnt locaศ.
Interiorul a fost realizat dupฤ proiectul arhitectului ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐ฐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐, care a transformat naosul bisericii รฎntr-o bazilicฤ cu trei nave. Proiectul a inclus adฤugarea de coloane, arcade, lambriuri, candelabre realizate special pentru acest spaศiu, precum ศi elemente de tรขmplฤrie inspirate din arhitectura bisericilor tradiศionale romรขneศti de sat. Dupฤ mai mulศi ani de proiectare, strรขngere de fonduri ศi lucrฤri de construcศie, acest proiect a adus bisericii, zidite iniศial รฎn anul 1948, o expresie ortodoxฤ mai profundฤ ศi o frumuseศe liturgicฤ deosebitฤ.
Sรขmbฤtฤ seara a fost sฤvรขrศitฤ din nou slujba Vecerniei. Apoi, รฎn Duminica a treia dupฤ Paศti, รฎnchinatฤ Sfintelor Femei Mironosiศe ศi รฎn care este prฤznuit ศi Soborul Sfintelor Femei Romรขnce, รnaltpreasfinศitul Pฤrinte Arhiepiscop Nathaniel a sฤvรขrศit Sfรขnta ศi Dumnezeiasca Liturghie, รฎnconjurat de un sobor de preoศi ศi diaconi.
La finalul slujbelor, รnaltpreasfinศia Sa a adresat cuvinte de mulศumire PC. Pr. David Wey, parohul comunitฤศii, precum ศi preศedintelui parohiei, Consiliului Parohial ศi tuturor credincioศilor, pentru implicarea, jertfelnicia ศi devotamentul lor faศฤ de Bisericฤ. รnaltpreasfinศia Sa a subliniat cฤ aceastฤ frumoasฤ lucrare a fost posibilฤ prin osteneala, generozitatea ศi dragostea tuturor celor care au sprijinit รฎnnoirea ศi รฎnfrumuseศarea sfรขntului locaศ.
