In welcoming His Eminence, National President Debbie George remarked, “It is a joy to welcome you to the Philoptochos Center of Philanthropy as we gather for our Vasilopita cutting in honor of St. Basil the Great—a tradition that beautifully reflects our shared faith, fellowship, and commitment to philanthropy. Moments like these remind us of the heart of Philoptochos and the guiding question that shapes all we do: ‘How can we help?’ Together, we continue to serve with love, compassion, and purpose.”

His Eminence offered his wishes for the continued good works of Philoptochos, stating, “As we begin this New Year of 2026, we do so with optimism for how Philoptochos can best serve the needs of the Church and the world in which we live. The guidance and example provided by this National Office to chapters across the country are truly invaluable. There are so many suffering people in our society today, and while we cannot help everyone, I am confident that Philoptochos will continue to make decisions that most effectively alleviate pain and hardship, in imitation of the healing ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ and in honor of the intercessory ministry of His Holy Mother in Heaven.”
