Father Peter, Director of the FREEDOM Ministry for Human Trafficking Awareness, attended the Archbishop’s Name Day Gala, where he presented a heartfelt note and a handmade paracord bracelet created by a survivor of human trafficking.
This survivor, who receives ongoing spiritual care through the St. Barbara Chapel/Shrine for Human FREEDOM, as well as philanthropic support from the ARISTEVI Foundation, endured more than a decade of abuse and exploitation beginning at the age of sixteen. In her handwritten letter, she expressed how deeply the ministry has impacted her healing journey, shared that she has come to understand the profound significance of names within the life of the Orthodox Church, and said she wanted His Eminence to have a gift made from her own hands.
With that understanding and gratitude, she wished him a blessed and joyful Name Day. His Eminence was profoundly touched by the thoughtful and deeply meaningful gift.
