Your Eminence, I stand here before you and our Lord today eager to accept the great gift of ordination to the Holy Diaconate. I have been dreaming of this moment my whole life, going all the way back to when I was a young boy pretending to give my mother and sister the Eucharist with a kitchen spoon and a paper napkin. It has been a long journey leading up to this moment, but the Lord who is my strength has always sustained me.
