Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary is excited to host the second of two lectures by noted art historian Joachim Pissaro, Ph.D., the Bershad Professor of Art History and Director of the Hunter College Galleries, Hunter College, New York.
On Thursday, May 4, at 4pm, Dr. Pissaro will deliver the second of two lectures in the Protopresbyter Valery Lukianov Hall of Holy Trinity Seminary. The series is commonly titled “The Visual Arts as the Expression of the Human Soul.”
This second lecture in the series is subtitled “The Birth of Humanism and the Advent of Modernity: Aesthetics as a Search for the Absolute” and will cover expressions of art from the Renaissance to the present day.
This is an all-Seminary event, and the lecture will be open to the public.
