His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon will be traveling throughout the Archdiocese of Washington from April 24 to May 9, serving and celebrating the Palm Sunday, Holy Week, and Paschal services in various parishes throughout the Archdiocese.
Public Schedule of His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, April 24, 2021 – May 9, 2021:
On April 24, the Saturday of the Raising of Lazarus, His Beatitude will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at Saint Nicholas Cathedral, Washington, DC. In the evening, the eve of the Entrance of our Lord into Jerusalem, Palm Sunday, he will attend the service at Saint Matthew Church, Columbia, MD.
On April 25, the Sunday of the Entrance of our Lord into Jerusalem, His Beatitude will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at Saint Matthew Church with the rector, Archpriest Constantine White, and the rest of the clergy and faithful of the parish.
On April 26, Holy Monday, His Beatitude will serve the Bridegroom Matins service at Saint Luke Church, Mclean, VA with the rector, Archpriest John Vitko, and the parish community.
On April 27, Holy Tuesday, His Beatitude will serve the Bridegroom Matins service at Holy Archangels Mission, Annapolis, MD, with Priest Robert Miclean and the mission community.
On April 28, Holy Wednesday, His Beatitude will serve at Saint Mark Church, Bethesda, MD, serving the Unction service in the morning, and the Bridegroom Matins service in the evening, with the rector, Archpriest Gregory Safchuk, and the rest of the clergy and faithful of the parish.
On April 29, Holy Thursday, His Beatitude will celebrate the Vesperal Divine Liturgy in the morning at Saint Mark Church. In the evening, for the Matins of Holy Friday, the service of the 12 Gospels, His Beatitude will serve at All Saints of North America Mission, Alexandria, VA with Mitred Archpriest Michael Koblosh and the faithful of the community.
On April 30, Great and Holy Friday, His Beatitude will solemnly serve both the Vespers service and Matins of Holy Saturday service at Saint Nicholas Cathedral.
On May 1, Great and Holy Saturday, His Beatitude will celebrate the Vesperal Divine Liturgy at Saint John the Theologian Mission Station, Fairfax Station, VA,
On May 2, the Great and Holy Pascha of our Lord, His Beatitude will celebrate the midnight service of the Nocturnes, Matins, and Divine Liturgy at Saint Nicholas Cathedral with Archpriest George Kokhno and the clergy and faithful of the community. He will also attend the second Divine Liturgy in the morning at the Cathedral with Archpriest Valery Shemchuk and the remainder of the community.
On May 3, Bright Monday, His Beatitude will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at Holy Trinity Church, Ashburn, VA with Archpriest Paul Harrilchak and the faithful of the community.
On May 8, Bright Saturday and the Feast of Saint John the Theologian, His Beatitude will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at Saint John the Theologian Mission Station for its inaugural patronal feast.
On May 9, Thomas Sunday, His Beatitude will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at Saint Andrew Church, Baltimore, MD with the rector, Archpriest Theodore Boback, and the rest of the clergy and faithful.
Anyone desiring to attend any services should be sure to check with the local parish priest regarding any attendance requirements.
It is with much reflection on the difficult past year, in which the Holy Week and Resurrection services were not able to be publicly celebrated, that His Beatitude prepares for the celebration of these services this year. May we all give glory to God that by His mercy, He has given us the opportunity to celebrate the Pascha of the Lord this year of 2021!
