His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, in his role as Locum Tenens of the Albanian Archdiocese, will visit Saint Nicholas Albanian Orthodox Church, Jamaica Estates, NY this Sunday, August 30.

Taking all health safety protocols into account, His Beatitude will celebrate the Divine Liturgy along with Hieromonk Nikodhim, the rector of Saint Nicholas Church, whom His Beatitude will elevate to the rank of Igumen in recognition of his dedicated priestly service. Following the Divine Liturgy, a Memorial Service will be served on the occasion of the one year anniversary of the falling asleep of the ever-memorable Archbishop Nikon. His Eminence Archbishop Nikon was a son of Saint Nicholas Church, and has many family members who attend the parish. Outdoor fellowship will follow.

The Divine Liturgy and Memorial Service will be streamed live on Saint Nicholas’ Facebook page.

While His Beatitude has remained remarkably active in coordinating church life through many Zoom meetings and phone calls, and has continually participated in the celebration of services at St. Tikhon’s Monastery and at St. Sergius Chapel at the Chancery of the Orthodox Church in America, making one visit to the Monastery of the Transfiguration on August 9th, this will be the first parish visit he will be making since March. Now that the parishes under his pastoral care have had sufficient time to get used to the celebration of the services under health safety precautions, His Beatitude looks to make more parish visits in the upcoming months.
