Updated Diptychs of the Orthodox Church in America Now Available

This post was originally published on this site
necrology

As has been announced, this year the Orthodox Church in America celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the reception of the Tomos of Autocephaly from the Russian Orthodox Church and the canonization of St. Herman of Alaska. During this year, there will be liturgical celebrations, lectures, and retreats dedicated to these anniversaries.

As part of our Churchwide celebrations, the Office of the Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America has updated the Diptychs of departed clergy, monastics, and prominent laity who have labored in our Church from the days of the Alaskan mission, through the time of the Metropolia, up until our very day.

This necrology is now available to download as a PDF in time for use at the proskomide for the Divine Liturgy on the Saturday of Meatfare, February 22, 2020.

Clergy are asked to note any typos or mistakes in this provisional text, and email corrections to yearbook@oca.org. Additionally, if clergy or faithful think someone should be listed in these Diptychs, and they are not, please send this information also to yearbook@oca.org. Finally, this new edition of the Diptychs includes the list of reposed clergy wives.  Chancery staff only recently began amassing this information; so any assistance with date and location details will be appreciated.

Later this year, having received corrections and any suggestion emendations, this text will be published as a book.
