The annual pan-Orthodox retreat for clergy wives will be held at Holy Dormition Monastery here from Friday, October 12 through Sunday, October 14, 2018.
This year’s theme — “The Gift of Compassion: God, Self and Others” — will be developed by the keynote speaker, Presvytera Kerry Pappas, Coordinator for Seminarian and Clergy Couple Care for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America’s Center for Family Care.
The pan-Orthodox gathering has been held annually since 1987 — since 2002 at the monastery. It is designed for clergy wives to enjoy fellowship, learn from a guest speaker, and participate in the monastery’s services and hospitality. Perhaps the most notable past keynote speaker was the late Matushka Juliana Schmemann.
Registration is available online. Additional information may be obtained by contacting Matushka Janine Frigerio at janine@areafiftytwo.org.
Recordings of presentations offered by Presvytera Julie Honeycutt, keynote speaker at the 2017 retreat, are available online.
