The “Joy of All Who Sorrow” Mission, Culver City, CA will be the site of two workshops, conducted by master iconographer and instructor Theodore Papadopoulos, June 8-16, 2018.
A two-day water gilding workshop using 22 carat gold leaf will be conducted June 8-9, followed by a full icon painting workshop June 11-16. Daily sessions will run from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. [or later as needed.] Each iconography workshop participant will complete an icon of Christ the Pantocrator based on an Athonite prototype.
The registration fees include most supplies—boards, pigments, brushes, etc. The fee for both workshops is $900.00, with a $350.00 non-refundable deposit. Fee for the icon painting workshop alone is $680.00, with a $250.00 non-refundable deposit. The $270.00 gilding workshop fee requires a $150.00 deposit. Participants who register for both workshops participants will receive a $50.00 discount.
